About the Author

�

Christoffer Carlsson (b. 1986) has a PhD in criminology from The Department of Criminology at Stockholm University. His main field of work is life-course criminology, where he has published extensively. In 2012, he received the European Society of Criminology's Young Criminologist Award for his work on turning points and desistance processes.

Jerzy Sarnecki (b. 1947) came to Sweden from Warzaw, Poland as a refugee in 1969. He has a PhD in sociology from Stockholm University (1978) and is Professor of criminology at Stockholm University and University of G�vle. He has done extensive research on youth crime, criminal networks, and criminal policy, and is the author of several textbooks in criminology. Having worked on The Stockholm Life-Course Project since the late 1970s, Sarnecki has been the project director for the 2nd and 3rd waves of the study. He is also co-chair of the jury for the prestigious Stockholm Prize in Criminology.

I haven't read the whole book, just got it yesterday in the mail. All I have read so far is the chapter which deals with anti-aging of your skin which is the reason I purchased it. I did appreciate that the authors talked about two different types of HA, HMW and LMW, with HMW being better for you. I have to check what kind I bought from Amazon a while ago, I hope it is the HMW.

It doesn't have any recipes for making your own skin care products so I will have to purchase something else for that. I now make all my own skin care products since I am horrified with the commercial products that contain hazardous chemicals and how they build up in your body and results in different illnesses.

I will say that a sports doctor recommended hylauronic acid supplements to me vs cortisone shots for my arthritic knee years ago, which doesn't bother me anymore, so I never took them. But it is something I still want to look into since there are many benefits to HA.

I have found only good things about hyaluronic acid so I am glad that I bought this book, it seems to have a lot of the basic information needed if you are interested in taking care of yourself. I feel there is a decent amount of content for the price.

Very useful information!

This is a very interesting little book with a lot of information about the uses of Hyaluronic Acid but also other supplement you can use which complement it according to what you are trying to achieve. I have never used Hyaluronic Acid but I am thinking of trying it soon and it seems to be good for a lot of problems like the joints, the heart, your skin, the eyes, the nervous system, etc. This book is small but contains quite a lot of information. The main reason I bought it was because it seems to be the only book that gives some information on eye floaters, a problem I hope to solve! If it helps my skin, my hair, etc.... all the better!

Once in a while there are useless repetitions but apart from that I found it quite informative and surely a great help before I try Hyaluronic Acid!

This is a great little book. If you are willing to take responsibility for your health, this book will be most helpful. It has opened me to the wonderful world of the great varieties of potatoes in Japan that i had not previously appreciated. Hurray!!

Thorough Coverage

My background is in Java and C++. The book takes you through C# and .NET from the beginning. Some knowledge of programming is probably required. I found the book interesting, easy to understand and actually quite an entertaining read. The examples are simple, focusing only on illustrating a single concept at a time. So the examples were really easy to follow. Great book for learning C# and .NET

This is the best C# book currently available

Mr. Troelsen's book is the best resource currently available (Nov 2012) for learning C#. His writing style is easy to follow and his examples are error-free. The "Pro" in the title means that this book is not intended for absolute beginners who have never programmed before. If you have prior experience with C# or another object-oriented language, then you will probably have no trouble reading this book. But if you are like me with limited programming experience then another introductory book (I like Microsoft's Step By Step) should be read first. I really like how each topic is presented, starting with the long drawn-out way to get things done and finishing with the elegant shorthand syntax which C# seems to provide for every task. By doing this, I am able to appreciate how well designed the C# language really is. I also like how the examples build on each other as you work through the book. Finally, this book is up-to-date and very complete. It should make a great reference book.

Have been waiting on various new books to drop including MVC in Context and others that brings together all of the new techs in one place to give you the wholelistic view of modern day Worlds best practice coding standards. Honestly did not expect the wealth of technologies covered in this book

Walks you through the evolution of the syntax and implementations as they have evolved over the years. Puts a light on how and why the changes took place by progressing from 1.0 => 4.0 and then finally spins out the 4.5 add ons (Delegates & Async Programming just to name a few)

Easy to digest without missing out on the detail which is missing in so many books

Personally , this is an amazing book that anyone interested on boost NA engines or already boosted engines, should have in our library. The book have excelent theoretical and practical information about turbos and superchargers including good information about tuning. Is easy to read for the beginners and have enough detailed information for experts.

I highly recomend you read this book as a place to start to help you decide the path you want to take as well as tuning.

If you want to understand the why and the theory behind forced induction buy this book. Most the other turbo or supercharging books I've flipped through in borders and the like, but your unlikely to find this book on the shelves based on my experience.

If you want the 'how to' look at the books by corky bell. If you have a mustang and want a kit some of the other books may suit you. For a true understanding of the subject this is your bible.

What can I say except 'brilliant'. I read Bell's other book "Four Stroke Performance" and I loved it alot. When I finally got this one, I couldn't put it down. The best book on turbo and forced induction theory I've read. A must for those who want to learn whatever thay can on the subject.

Master's Thesis from the year 2011 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1,0, Liverpool John Moores University, language: English, abstract: Following the HBR article "Creating Shared Value" by Michael Porter and Mark Kramer published in January 2011 the author witnessed an online debate on the subject suggesting that CSV was hardly any more than a strategic move to support FSG, the consultancy run by Michael Porter and Mark Kramer. It was suggested that Porter and Kramer offered nothing new, but gave CSR a new name. But there were also voices claiming that it would be great if CSV was reality. So, there seemed to be something about CSV that some people got and others denied. What was it? In this dissertation the ideas laid down in CSV are evaluated and appraised against related concepts of corporate social responsibility. Special focus lies on the aspects Porter and Kramer used to separate CSV from CSR: justification, value, and concepts for practical application. The main part of the study consists of a literature review on related topics. It is laid down that basic ideas of CSV have already been introduced in CSR, e.g. with corporate citizenship, sustainability, doing business at the bottom of the pyramid, or community relations. Philosophical considerations on corporate responsibility and political correlations give reason to regard CSV a competitive tool rather than an alternative approach to CSR. The concept is critically appraised from a societal perspective showing that CSV can be applied to benefit all, but does not lead to shared value in itself. In the second part of the dissertation an explorative study is conducted among energy suppliers and suppliers of outdoor equipment operating in the German market to find out whether Porter and Kramer's distinction between responsive and strategic CSR can be supported and whether CSV might deliver new options for the companies.
